The Facility Services Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory complex in support of the research mission. It also furnishes the design, engineering, and construction needs of the Laboratory, addressing its ever-changing program requirements. The department's overarching goal is to provide prompt, quality service in a wide spectrum of responsibilities in compliance with state and federal codes, and manage many services that impact the workplace quality of life for the Laboratory's population.
The Project Financial Manager is an integral member of the FSD Business Team, supporting the Project Managers, the Project Controls Specialist, and FSD Management. Working closely with the Project Controls Specialist, the Project Financial Manager will oversee the financial execution of the FSD Projects, promote and maintain the project financial business processes, and perform project administrative tasking for the Department. Will collaborate with others internally and externally to identify and establish best practices.
The Project Financial Manager’s primary responsibility will be to provide top-level financial forecast and execution information to FSD Management as well as facilitate and oversee the financial execution of the FSD External/Customer Project Portfolio (including projects involving MIT Campus and the Facility Modernization Plan (FMP). Will collaborate with the Project Controls Specialist and FSD Customers on the business processes surrounding FSD Project execution.
The successful candidate will possess strong project financial management skills, exhibit strong collaboration skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to pay close attention to the task-at-hand in a fast-paced environment.
BS in finance or related field is required, MS/MBA a plus
5-8 years applicable experience beyond degree is required
Experience in the facility industry and with project financial management a plus
Must be an organized business person skilled at keeping track of fiscal information within a dynamic work environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
Experience with SAP, SRM, financial systems such as LLBIS a plus; proficiency with these enterprise tools desired
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to analyze, discuss and present financial results/reports to all levels of the organization
Able to work independently, seek out answers to problems and drive positive change within the organization
