The Bank for International Settlements is seeking a media officer – with the internal job title of communications specialist – with a keen interest in global economics and policymaking.
You will support our mission by effectively communicating economic research, policy analysis, financial regulation and statistics. You will help our economists and policymakers hone their messages and make sure they connect with target audiences.
In this role you will respond to enquiries from the media and the public, organise media events and interviews and act as a media liaison. You will prepare and edit content for a variety of channels and will keep abreast of media coverage of areas of special interest to the Bank.
We look forward to meeting candidates who are familiar with economics and finance and have sound knowledge of central banking issues. You will have a university degree in a relevant field, such as journalism or communications. You will have at least three years’ experience working as a financial journalist or dealing with the media. You will be social media savvy and comfortable using digital communications tools and video. You will have excellent English language skills and speak at least one other world language.
